The Eagle nebula M16 (top) partially cut off, and Omega nebula M17 (just below M16). These two nebulae lie against the backdrop of the dense star fields of the Sagittarius Arm of our Milky Way Galaxy. The many dark patches visible are dark nebulae where dense clouds of dusty material blocks the visible light.
M24 is the Small Sagittarius Star Cloud - that mass of stars just below M17. The small blue & red nebula in the bottom right is the Triffid Nebula - M20.
