…go marching in…

It’s been a funny old day for us Spurs fans. I woke up this morning for the second time in a matter of a few months to the news that a group of my fellow fans were attacked in a bar again by thugs doing Nazi salutes. I hope the rest of our fans who are there get home safely and wish speedy recovery to the ones injured. This time it happened in Lyon ahead of tonight’s game. Rome and now Lyon? What’s going on? We are between a rock and a hard place these days. The Black Lawyers Association trying to sue us for being racists because of the Judaism angle (insane charge) but then our fans getting attacked in racist incidents. We don’t seem to be able to win this one and are being attacked from all directions. The world truly has gone mad.

Anyway, in a stroke of good fortune, we were both home in time for the antisocially early kick off. We were aghast when Lyon scored and spent 89 minutes wondering why none of our players seem to be able to slot one in. Not even the Welsh Wonder “BAY-LE” could get the ball in the back of the net tonight. Then along comes Mousa Dembale with a complete flyer and all of a sudden, we snatch victory from the jaws of defeat and are on our way to the San Siro again. That has happened (the snatching victory thing, not going to the San Siro, that'd be odd) so often this season that I’m almost relaxed when we’re losing with two minutes to go (not really). DM was on his feet, in front of the telly, taking every kick himself. I’m not entirely sure he’d have done a worse job than some of our players who are earning 20k per week.

So, the photo is hardly imaginative and the victory is only an “over two legs” one, not a real victory tonight. Bring on Inter, we’ve done them before, we can do them again! I want to be in that number, when the Spurs go marching in.
