These are my first test images of the CKC Crystal Vue LX extreme telophoto lens (8X magnification) which is designed for digital cameras with relatively large internal lenses like the Canon G3.
Other than some noticeable chromatic aberation, this lens works very well. There is plenty of brightness, contrast and sharpness edge to edge in the images as far as I can tell.
Here is a link to the CKC website where this lens can be ordered. I highly recommend this lens based on my informal results.
UPDATED July 28th, 2003: See the three swan pictures for a represenation of the focal length difference with and without the Crystal Vue lens from the same vantage point.UPDATED August 27th, 2003: See the Butterfly gallery at the bottom of this page for various sample images of a beautiful yellow butterfly on purple thistle. Note that the images in this test gallery range from 3 to nearly 6 megabytes file size. Scroll to the bottom of the page after clicking on the thumbnail and choose the "medium" or "large" option for faster viewing or choose "original" to open the original jpg at full size in your browser. Sorry there is no EXIF data but my version of Photoshop does not support EXIF.
Interesting gallery John. If you use BreezeBrowser available fromhttp://www.breezesys.com, which is more than just a file browser dedicated for use with Canon cameras, there is a tool that will transfer EXIF information from your original images.
