Haiku #3: Cutting down the bamboo

There are many, many haiku about bamboo, which suits me fine as I love bamboo :-) This is my bamboo, growing in a large pot outside in summer, inside all winter. I know nothing about the poet, Gochu. This haiku is one I copied out from somewhere about 30+ years ago.

Cutting down the bamboos,

The sun shines on the temple;

The first tinted leaves.

I actually killed my bamboo. Love the image and perfect Haiku! :)

You knew it would come in handy, one day :-)
Kidding aside, it marries very nicely with your tinted bamboo leaves.

Lovely light and love the fading green and beginning of yellows. Perfect haiku. V.

The bamboo looks pretty healthy. Good that it is in a pot, we plant it in the ground here and it is impossible to get rid of it once it gets started. Love that the leaves are changing colors a bit, it makes it match the Haiku even more. V

Your bamboo is doing so much better than ours - ours is in a little pot dying in the window all alone but for a suculent friend. So sad.
