Shipston is a great place to shop; and to stop for a cuppa (or three...)!
Arthur Mee, in The King's England (1949), describes it thus: "The flavour of other days is in all its streets, where the houses and inns are of the Georgian period when the woollen industry made Shipston a more prosperous place than now. In many of the houses, older still, a stone over the door has the date and initials of the builder...."
