Colin, You have proved to me you can turn a sows ear in a silk purse. You took a very modest set of photographs(not taken by you) turned them into something anyone would be proud of and the resulting album is stunning.

The boys are delighted. You certainly saved my bacon.

Thanks for your comments Colin. I enjoyed your b/w galleries too. Very interesting to see that we both took some shots from almost the same perspectives, and were inspired to keep it monochrome:

I enjoy the enthusiasm of your photography.

thanks for visiting my paris gallery. As regards the subway entrance shot. I just converted it from raw and used the channel mixer technique to get the b&W effect in ps I wanted.

Best Regards

Thanks for your comments on my Everest pictures Colin. No, I didn't climb it - that trip was just about the trekking but we got to around 5600m and visited the main base camp for Everest from the Nepal side. The photo was taken from a small (in relation to those around it!!) mountain called Kala Pattar. kind regards

Hi Colin - thanks for the kind words about my Barn & Poppies picture. I'm actually thinking how I could market it to best (financial) effect. I have had some postcards printed which have sold well throught the local Tourist Information Centre. But I'm considering going up-market with a large framed print. The prototype looks great! Total cost of archive quality A2 print/mount and frame is about £60 and a canvas would be the same. So I planned to sell at just under or just over £100 to local restaurants, pubs or even put a small ad in the small town paper (in colour). Do you think I would spoil that market if I also offered an A4 mounted in simple black frame - retail £25. Your comments or ideas would be very welcome.

Regards

John

Thank you for visiting my galleries. The picture of Ben Nevis is actually taken from Torlundy which is on the East side (The visitor Centre is on the west and a bit too close to get a good picture). I've never been to the top but have seen it many time shrouded in mist I could understand why you would be unable to see more than 5 feet.
You've got some great galleries and I enjoyed looking round and will be back.

No guestbook entries?
A fine gallery should have some! Here's the first of many, I suspect.
