Dona-Guadalupe.jpg

Doņa Guadalupe was fiercely independent but age and her fragile bones got her in a wheel chair know, when her husband fell from a horse they were brought to Santa Ana. She misses her garden and the town square. I wondered how many of my "comadres" (girlfriends) are still alive. When asked what would make her happy, she replied at least let me cook! She smiled slightly when she whispered that her tamales were famous.
